Thank you, Phil, for reading and engaging. The history of Western interventionism, in general, makes me terribly uncomfortable. Try as we might, to paint it as a civilising influence, the hard truth is that said region would have been better off without any intervention at all. No friend of India's, but Imran Khan's Pakistan abstained from the vote too (as did Sri Lanka) and his reasons are worth mulling over.
