Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Agree that when just 30% of the youth is eligible to serve and only 2% actually want to (and meet the criteria) - it is a problem that runs far deeper. Childhood and adolescent obesity, for example, is a national health emergency rather than being a problem just for the military. Waivers, as you point out, have historically led to poor outcomes and there is a reason why militaries around the world, starved of officers, refuse to lower standards.
