Whilst I respect Mr. Bahl, the editor of the Quint, and most of his videos are somewhat palatable — this one video represents a new low. Historically, almost all of Quint’s videos are based on egregious abuses of facts, and this one is no different. The difference between the ‘shouting anchors’ who mostly wander the mainstream media and Mr. Bahl is striking. Mr. Bahl’s opinions are easier to accept because he isn’t foaming at the mouth while making them and his arguments are supposedly backed by facts. Quint’s quest to be India’s Vox, which sees it use glitzy editing, also helps lend it credibility. However, journalism is about one thing — FACTS. Op-eds, like this video is, can take a few more liberties; but not to this degree.

I will not even venture out into how simplistic the argument put forth in the video is, but then again, it had to be to be click-bait. The crux of the argument is that the cabal of IAS officers and the PMO, shepherding the economy, are deeply suspicious of market forces. Perversely, Mr. Bahl’s argument…
